| If you long for high-altitude activities, the County of
Miesbach won’t disappoint! A total of 50 cable-car and ski-lift systems
serve the area’s mountains, so even large groups can get in plenty of runs
on the well groomed slopes in winter or catch the fantastic summit views
during summertime. A group visit makes the winter here even more memorable
- complete with many different sporting activities,
thrilling downhill runs and lots of shared fun. Recently expanded and
modernized, the Spitzingsee ski resort has a cabin cable car to take you up
Taubenstein Mountain, while the Stümpflingbahn and Suttenbahn offer new
covered 4-seat chairlifts. The slopes are easy to reach from either
Spitzingsee or Tegernsee Lake, and an additional 13 tow lifts ensure easy
access to all 21 prepared runs. Group and incentive travelers in particular
will love the many extra activities offered, like dog sled workshops, ski
safaris, snowshoe hiking and more. And the location couldn’t be more ideal,
at just an hour’s drive from the Bavarian capital of Munich. |

| Equally convenient to reach is Germany’s largest
interconnected ski area, Sudelfeld. Here, 21 lifts in all bring skiers to
mountain elevations of up to 1,500 meters, while modern snow-making
equipment assures an excellent base cover. A gondola cable car also serves
Wendeistein and Wallberg Mountain. The former is known for slopes that
challenge even expert skiers, while the latter offers Germany’s longest
natural toboggan run - a must for all sledders! |
